Coordinate and conduct training of
surf education for all Junior members

Resuscitation Certificate for Under 13s

Coordinate training of Surf Rescue
Certificate for Under 14s
Training
Officers: new & existing
Members are required to assist the
Chief Instructor by training squads in awards such as Surf Rescue
Certificate, Bronze Medallion, Advanced Resuscitation Certificate, IRB
Crew and IRB Driver.
If you are able to assist with
training members you will need to attend the Training Officer
course: “Provide training through instruction and demonstration of
work skills” which is one module of the Certificate IV in Training &
Assessment which can then be used to train outside of the Surf
environment such as your work place.
Assessors
We currently have only 2 assessors
in the club, so we are in desperate need to get more members qualified
to help share the workload. You will need to attend a 3 day assessor
course which is also part of the Certificate IV in Training &
Assessment so the skills you learn can be used outside of the surf
environment.

Did you know that Somerton SLSC has
a facebook group? Well we do and we have 122 members! This is a
great place to look for upcoming events, put notices up, request subs
for patrols, post photos and/or videos, etc. This is a closed group
to ensure privacy, so you must request to join. So next time you are
on facebook, request to join our group then keep up-to-date with what
is happening around the club.
LIFESAVING ONLINE
Have you registered for lifesaving online yet?
Well now is the time to register, all you have to do is go to:
www.lifesavingonline.com.au
and sign up. To register you must enter your name and email address
exactly as it is entered in Surfguard our national database, eg. if
your name is Joe Bloggs but Surfguard has your name as Joseph Bloggs,
you must enter Joseph Bloggs otherwise you will you will not be able
to register. If you have any problems registering, please contact
Adam Connell to confirm your information, email:
registrar@somertonslsc.org.au
For 2009/10 season you will be able
to register your membership online if you have signed up for
lifesaving online, you can also keep your contact details updated if
you change any details. We are also hoping you will be able to pay
your registration fees online as well, further details to come.
